The sheet presented is a preparatory model for the painting which is currently located in the collegiate church of Hoglworth near Reichenhall (1). There is another version of the composition in the Uffizi from the Santarelli collection (2). In the catalogue edited by Peter Anselm Riedl, Disegni dei barocceschi senesi of 1971, at entry 43 on page 51, the work is extensively explored, giving indications on the history of the painting for which the drawing is preparatory. There are two other studies of details located in the Biblioteca Comunale of Siena (3).
