The Cortona Fine Art gallery is pleased to announce the imminent publication of its annual catalogue of old master drawings, The Seduction of Drawing. The volume, edited by the art historian Luca Giunta Baroni, follows the one devoted to The Power of Drawings (2020), consolidating the gallery's commitment to the national and international market of ancient works on paper.
The official presentation of the text will take place at the end of autumn, on the occasion of the opening to the public of the exhibition of the drawings that will take place in Cortona gallery in Corso Monforte 18 (Milan).
The selected works, ranging from the 16th to the 19th century, include an elegant Page with breastplate and a Greyhound by Domenico Tiepolo (1727-1804), a preparatory study for the engraving by the Genoese painter Bartolomeo Biscaino (1629-1657), an exceptionally rare Study of Heads by the Milanese Baroque sculptor Carlo Biffi (1605-ante 1665) and a mysterious Genre Scene by Domenico Guidobono (1668-1746) from Savona.
The exhibition and catalogue also comprise works by Domenico Fiasella, Baldassarre Franceschini (il Volterrano), Giovanni Stefano Danedi (il Montalto), Giuseppe Bernardino Bison, Giovanni Migliara and Vincenzo Camuccini.
