The sheet is the preparatory study on both the front and back for the composition “Modesty Tears the Wings of Lascivious Love” present in the Hall of Allegories of the Pitti Palace. The cycle of paintings was commissioned by Vittoria Della Rovere and executed in 1658 (1)
