Another known example of this work, depicting a Cayenne jay, was previously owned by our Gallery. Very little is known about the artist: he is mentioned only by his surname in the work: Explication des ouvrages de peinture, sculpture, gravure, lithographie et architecture des artistes vivants, exposés au Musée royal des Arts le 25 août 1824.
