Giuliano Traballesi

The drawing finds comparison with the model owned by the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana (1), considered by Bandera Viani to be a sketch for the fresco, now lost, for one of the conversation rooms of the Villa Arciducale in Monza (2). Another version of our composition exists in the graphic collection of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan (3), in which the figure of Mercury has been varied so much as to suggest that our sheet is the final project for the composition.
