Landscape with figures
Francesco Bosio
(c. 1726-1756)
- Pencil and brown ink
- 295 mm x 465 mm
The first attempt to catalogue the artist's work was made by the historian Christel Thiem (1) starting from a sheet kept at the Arkansas Arts Center, Little Rock, signed F.Bo F. (Francesco Bosio fecit). From this first element the author of the essay gathers fourteen sheets scattered among various museums and private collections including: Windsor, Stuttgart, Uffizi and Budapest. Due to stringent technical and subject analogies our sheet is related beyond any doubt to this series of drawings.
