Portrait of a Jurist

The work presumably belongs to a series of portraits by the artist depicting distinguished Florentine figures of the second half of the seventeenth century. Comparable examples include the Portrait of Francesco Redi, preserved in Arezzo at the Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici, and the Portrait of Tommaso di Giuseppe Puccini in the Museo Civico in Pistoia. The attribution, first proposed by Massimo Pulini and Andrea Daninos, was subsequently confirmed by Sandro Bellesi.
